We know a lot of you have been waiting for a demo to be released for Tom Clancy's HAWX. Originally the demo was due for release today but now publisher Ubisoft has announced that the PC demo has now been pushed back a few days. It is now scheduled to be released on Monday, March 2 (the Xbox 360 demo is already out and the PS3 demo should be released later today).

The Gametap digital download service continues to release new chapters of its episodic game series American McGee's Grimm. Today the latest episode is released, based on the Mulan legend, as as with previous releases this new chapter is free to play for the next 24 hours. As you may know the development team behind the game, Spicy Horse, is now working on their next project which is a new title in the American McGee's Alice series for publisher EA.

Yet another MMO-style game has entered its open beta stage. Today Abandon Interactive announced that they have launched the open beta for Freaky Creatures, the Pokemon-like online game that allows folks to create their own creatures and have them battle against other players' creations in turn based combat. You can also build and customize your own lair for your creature

It's been about 36 hours or so after the open beta launch of Quake Live but id Software's free-to-play version of Quake III Arena has not had a smooth launch, mostly due to the tremendous amount traffic the game has generated. Some people have waited for an hour or more to actually play the game once they sign onto the site and then get put into a queue. id Software's Marty Stratton has posted up an update on the Quake Live message boards. Here is his statement on the long queue issues:

Bohemia Interactive originally developed the first Operation Flashpoint game for publisher Codemasters. That game was released in 2001. Since then Bohemia has struck out on its own and made their own military shooter games under the ArmA title. The first was released in 2007 and the sequel, ArmA II is due out later this year. Codemasters, however, kept the rights to the Operation Flashpoint name and in 2007 announced their plans to release Operation Flashpoint 2, using an internal development team at the company.
